Casablanca Police Bust Major Truck Theft Ring, Arrest Three Suspects

The judicial police of Bernoussi in Casablanca apprehended three individuals suspected of belonging to a large network of truck-trailer thieves.
The criminal gang is composed of drivers, mechanics and fences specialized in the theft of truck-trailers belonging to companies, reports the daily Assabah.
The case came to light when the management of a company in Casablanca discovered that one of its trucks had disappeared under suspicious circumstances with a cargo of several tons of construction materials.
The truck driver, who had been hired by the company just four months earlier, had turned off his cell phone. This directed the police investigation towards him, the newspaper points out.
The thieves proceeded to dismantle the truck-trailers on a farm in El Jadida to sell them as spare parts in the scrapyard market.
The judicial police of Bernoussi referred three of them, including a driver and two individuals who lived on the aforementioned farm, to the public prosecutor at the court of appeal. The prosecution prosecuted them in custody for the constitution of a criminal gang, while their accomplices are actively being sought.
