Renault to Launch First Electric Dacia: Tangier Plant Potential Manufacturing Site

The French automaker Renault wants to launch a 100% electric Dacia in 2021. Will this low-cost vehicle be manufactured at the group’s plant in Tangier?
Renault’s plant in Tangier is specialized in the full (100%) manufacture of certain Dacia models (Dokker, Sandero and Lodgy), sold in Morocco or mainly exported to Europe, Africa and the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa). If we stick to this mission that has been assigned to it, it is very likely that the manufacture of the 100% electric Dacia will be entrusted to it.
"The Renault group has just officially announced the launch of a first electric Dacia! And, contrary to what a recent rumor suggested, it will most likely not be a Sandero Stepway hybrid, but a 100% electric model," reports Auto Plus.
The new Dacia, whose release is scheduled for the beginning of the 2021-2022 period, remains hidden under a tarpaulin. According to the Renault group, the vehicle is a zero-emission city car, branded as an "Urban City Car", a low-cost brand offering new technology within everyone’s reach.
