Reda Faras Murder Case Reopened: Casablanca Court Sets New Trial Date

Moroccan justice ruled on the requests of the various parties before postponing the opening of substantive proceedings. For the continuation of the procedure, the criminal chamber ordered the broadcast of video recordings from the investigation and the summons of a single witness, Youssef El Bouhadi. The magistrates also joined the defense exceptions to the merits and suspended their decision regarding the submission of documents relating to a motorcycle.

This criminal case must shed light on the disappearance of the ex-spouse of singer Rym Fikri, whose body was found shortly after his abduction. Investigators favor the theory of kidnapping followed by unlawful confinement, torture and homicide.

Among the individuals prosecuted in this case is Reda Abakrim, nicknamed "Turbo". Alongside this matter, this defendant remains involved in a completely separate judicial proceeding related to a murder committed in France in 2007. Another hearing is scheduled for June 15, 2026 to address this parallel case.

Until that date, the first instance decision applies, with Reda Abakrim having been acquitted of these old charges by this same Casablanca court in April 2023.
