Moroccan Singer to Testify in High-Profile Drug Lord Murder Trial

The criminal chamber of the Casablanca Court of Appeal has postponed the trial of drug baron Reda Abakrim, alias "Turbo", the alleged murderer of Moroccan singer Rym Fikri’s husband, to June 17. The latter will appear as a witness during this hearing.
The court decided on Tuesday to postpone the examination of this case to allow some defendants to properly prepare their defense. The court also decided to summon Rym Fikri to appear as a witness.
In a video posted on her Instagram account, Rym Fikri refrained from any comment on this ongoing case before the courts, assuring that she gives no importance to the information circulated about her in connection with this case and that she does not need to justify or defend herself against these allegations. "I am at peace," said the Moroccan singer.
Six people are being prosecuted in custody in this case. They are Reda Abakrim alias Turbo, the main accused, Saïd A., Mohamed J., Zakaria D., Abbas M. and Hassan M. The defendants are accused of kidnapping, sequestration, torture and premeditated murder.
