Moroccan Singer’s Husband Murder Trial Delayed: ’Turbo’ and 5 Others Await Justice

The Casablanca Court of Appeal has just postponed the examination of Reda Abakrim’s case, alias "Turbo", the main accused in the murder of Reda Faras, the husband of singer Rym Fikri, to September 11 next.
The judge decided on Thursday to postpone the hearing to September 11 next due to the absence of Rym Fikri, the victim’s wife, summoned to appear as a witness.
In addition to Reda Abakrim, the main accused in this case, five other people (Saïd A., Mohamed J., Zakaria D., Abbas M. and Hassan M.) are being prosecuted for kidnapping, sequestration, torture and premeditated murder.
Reda "Turbo" Abakrim, a Franco-Moroccan, had been convicted in absentia in 2021 by the Versailles court to 21 years in prison for the murder of the Moroccan Brahim Hajaji in 2007. A settling of scores related to cannabis trafficking. He will be acquitted at first instance in Morocco.
