Morocco Falls to Cape Verde in African Handball Championship Semifinal

The Atlas Lions lost to Cape Verde (23-19) in the semi-final of the 2022 African Handball Nations Cup, on Saturday in Cairo.
The Moroccan handball team is leaving the African Nations Championship (CAN) on the verge of the final. It was slowed down by Cape Verde, which dominated the match from start to finish, thus seizing its chance to qualify for the first time in its history for an African handball championship final.
Morocco will play the third-place classification match against the loser of the semi-final between Egypt and Tunisia. Through its performances in this edition, the Moroccan team has qualified for the World Handball Championship to be held in Poland and Sweden in January 2023.
