Morocco Edges Algeria 28-27 in Thrilling World Handball Championship Match

The Atlas Lions managed to win their first victory in the World Handball Championship, which is being held in Sweden and Poland. This Saturday, January 21, they beat the Algerian team in a suspenseful match, which ended with a score of 28 to 27. This victory is all the more remarkable as it comes after four consecutive defeats.
This match, which took place at the Orlen Arena in Plock, Poland, saw the Atlas Lions win the President’s Cup, which brings together the teams eliminated from the group stage of the World Handball Championship. The players coached by Noureddine Bouhaddioui gave their best to win this tight match.
The Moroccan team had suffered four defeats in the group stage, against the United States (27-28), Egypt (19-30) and Croatia (24-36). The Atlas Lions had also lost on Thursday, January 19, against Tunisia (25-30), on the first day of this pool.
The next match for the Moroccan team will be against North Macedonia, scheduled for Monday, January 23.
