Morocco Downgrades Saudi Arabia to 'B List' for Travel Restrictions

Saudi Arabia is no longer part of the A list countries. Morocco now classifies this country in the B list, announced a press release from the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This announcement, which comes after the resumption of flights to and from the Kingdom on June 15 with exceptional authorizations, imposes new conditions on passengers from this country.

To this end, any person coming from the Arabian Peninsula, with the exception of Moroccan citizens residing there, is required to present an exceptional authorization granted by the consular services. In addition, a negative PCR test less than 48 hours old at boarding. In addition, they will observe a controlled 10-day quarantine, at the traveler’s expense, in hotel facilities previously defined by the local authorities. A control test will also have to be done on the 9th day.

On June 6, the Moroccan authorities announced the resumption of flights to and from the Kingdom on June 15 with exceptional authorizations. This decision, which is part of the gradual easing of restrictive measures initiated by the Kingdom, was taken in view of the epidemiological control in the kingdom and the success of the vaccination campaign, said a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, noting that the decision also aims to allow those wishing to travel abroad or return to Morocco, particularly MREs.
