Morocco’s Coach Regragui Addresses Challenges Ahead of Brazil and Peru Matches

In anticipation of the two matches that the Atlas Lions must play in the coming days, the coach of the Moroccan national football team was facing the press yesterday, Saturday. Here is a summary of his intervention.
Walid Regragui highlighted the complexity of the June confrontations. "The matches this month are not easy for any team. And we have two of them," he said, acknowledging that some players could be physically and mentally exhausted after a busy sports season. However, he reaffirmed his determination to continue on the momentum since taking office, wishing to end the season as best as possible between the World Cup and the two matches against Brazil and Peru.
Regarding the match against Cape Verde, the coach insisted on the importance of respecting all teams, without underestimating the opponents. Football has changed, he stressed, recalling that his team had reached the semi-finals of the World Cup. He then evoked the memory of a difficult match against Cape Verde, highlighting the quality of the opposing players who play in Spain and France. "If we make the mistake of not respecting them, we will be surprised. If we respect our opponents and if we maintain our state of mind and our game plan, we will continue to achieve good results," he said.
Regarding the team’s choices, despite the injuries of Ounahi and Amallah, as well as the departure of some players to the U23 national team, the coach said he had found a good core for his team. He remains optimistic and open to new players, mentioning Idrissi, Kandouss, Moufi, Maleh. Unfortunately, Massina is out.
