Morocco's Béni Mellal-Khénifra Region Invests 820 Million Dirhams in Major Road Rehabilitation Project

As part of road maintenance programs, some 341 km of road are currently being rehabilitated in the Beni-Mellal-Khénifra region, for a budget of 820 million dirhams.

This renovation is also part of the agreement to upgrade strategic road axes at the level of the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region, which consists of the realization of 13 road projects in the provinces of Béni Mellal, Azilal and Fkih Ben Salah, with a completion rate of 80%, according to a press release from the regional directorate of equipment.

The objective is to meet the expectations of citizens in terms of the opening up of the rural population, economic and social development and the upgrading of the road infrastructure, the same source specifies.

The project notably concerns the construction of the Béni Mellal bypass road over 13.8 km for an amount of 150 MDH. It aims to relieve heavy traffic passing through Béni Mellal and the bypass of RN8 traffic towards Marrakech.

As for the upgrading of the RR717 road axis, connecting Bejaâd to Khénifra, over a length of 85 km, also included in the project, it will improve winter visibility by eliminating the cut-off points and reduce travel time to the highway connecting Beni Mellal and Casablanca, it is pointed out.
