Extreme Heat Wave Hits Morocco: Temperatures to Soar to 45°C in Multiple Provinces

Several Moroccan provinces such as Marrakech, Beni Mellal will experience a heat wave from Friday, August 12 to Saturday, August 13, 2022, warns the General Directorate of Meteorology (DMN).
Temperatures will range between 41°C and 45°C on Friday, August 12, the DMN specifies in a special weather bulletin with an orange alert level. This heat wave will affect the provinces of Fez, Moulay Yacoub, Sefrou, Taounate, Meknes, El Hajeb, Fquih Ben Salah, Khenifra, Beni Mellal, Khouribga, Settat, El Kelaâ des Sraghna, Rehamna, Marrakech, Zagora, Taroudant and Tata, the DGM said in a weather alert bulletin, reporting an orange alert level.
The same phenomenon will occur on Saturday, August 13 in Taourirt, Nador, Guercif, Oujda-Angad, Berkane, Driouch, Taounate, Sefrou, Taza, Khouribga, Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Khenifra, Zagora and Tata.
