Extreme Heat Wave Grips Morocco: Temperatures Soar to 46°C in Multiple Provinces
Several Moroccan provinces including Marrakech and Youssoufia will experience a heat wave until Sunday, July 24, 2022, warns the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).
The heat wave persists in Morocco. Temperatures will fluctuate between 41 and 45°C on Tuesday in Fquih Ben Salah, Khouribga, Beni Mellal, Settat, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Youssoufia, Rehamna, Marrakech, Chichaoua, Zagora, Taroudant, Tata, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara and the interior of the following provinces: Essaouira, Guelmim, Boujdour, Oued Ed-Dahab and Aousserd, specifies the DGM in a weather alert bulletin at the orange vigilance level.
Similarly, temperatures between 41 and 46°C are expected from Wednesday to Sunday, July 24 in the provinces of Ouezzane, Fez, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, Meknes, El Hajeb, Taza, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Khémisset, Khouribga, Khénifra, Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Berrechid, Settat, Sidi Bennour, Benslimane, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Youssoufia, Rehamna, Marrakech, Chichaoua, Zagora, Tata, Taroudant, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara and the interior of the following provinces: Larache, Kenitra, Essaouira, Safi, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Tiznit, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Boujdour, Aousserd, Oued Ed-Dahab, Tan-Tan, Sidi Ifni, Guelmim, Tarfaya and Laayoune.
