Heat Wave Alert: Morocco Braces for Temperatures Nearing 50°C in Multiple Provinces

The Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) forecasts a heat wave (39/47°C) from Friday to Sunday, June 12, 2022 in several Moroccan provinces.
Temperatures ranging from 39 to 42°C will be recorded on Friday, June 10 in the provinces of Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Khemisset, Ouezzane, Taounate, Moulay Yacoub, Fez, Meknes, Sefrou, Khénifra, Khouribga, Béni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah and Taroudant, the DGM said in a weather alert bulletin indicating an orange alert level. The same phenomenon (40/44°C) will occur in the provinces of Tata, Zagora and Errachidia. Similarly, temperatures ranging between 45 and 47°C are expected on Saturday and Sunday in the provinces of Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane and Khemisset.
The DGM also announces that the same phenomenon (41 to 44°C) will occur in the provinces of Fez, Meknes, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, Ouezzane, Khouribga, Khénifra, Béni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Rhamna, Marrakech, Youssoufia, Sidi Bennour, Settat, Benslimane, Berrechid, Taroudant, Zagora, Tata and the interior of Kenitra, Larache, Skhirate-Temara and Salé.
