Moroccan Taekwondo Team Dominates African Championships with 4 Gold Medals

The Moroccan taekwondo team won seven medals (4 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze) at the African Taekwondo Championships held from July 14 to 17 in Kigali, Rwanda.
The Moroccan taekwondo athletes did their best at the African kyorugi championships in Kigali. Ayoub El Bassel won gold in the under 87 kg category after defeating the Nigerian Benjamin Okuomose in the final (2-1). Gold also went to Fatima-Ezzahra Aboufaras, in the over 73 kg category, by beating the Ivorian Aminata Charlene Traore in the final by the same score (2-1).
The two other gold medals for the Moroccan team were won by Nada Laaraj (under 57 kg), who defeated the Egyptian Ashrakat Nabil, gold medalist at the last Mediterranean Games (2-1) and by Nezha Elaasal who prevailed in the final (under 49 kg) against the Egyptian Shahd Samy (2-1).
The only silver medal was won by Omar Lakehal who lost in the final (under 58 kg) to the Tunisian Mohamed Khalil Jendoubi. The two other bronze medals were won by Fayçal Saidi (under 68 kg) and Youssef Boatris (under 80 kg).
