Moroccan Karate Team Clinches 4 Bronze Medals at Islamic Solidarity Games

Four bronze medals were won by the Moroccan karate team at the Islamic Solidarity Games, which ended yesterday, Thursday, August 18.
It was in the kumite and kata competitions played on Thursday in Konya, Turkey that the Moroccan athletes were able to win the four bronze medals. In Kata, it was the Moroccan Aya En-Nesyry who won the bronze against the Malaysian Lovelly Anne Robberth.
For the men, the team composed of Adnan El Hakimi, Mohamed El Hanni and Bilal Ben Kacem won the bronze medal in the same discipline, against the team from Azerbaijan, while Nabil Ech-Chaabi (-84 kg) dominated the Saudi Faraj Alnashri in kumite, with a clear score of 10-0. The last bronze medal was won by Nissrine Brouk in the -68 kg category, against the Uzbek Bonu Egamberdiyeva with a score of 9 to 1.
For Abdelkebir Daroui who led the Moroccan delegation to these Islamic Solidarity Games, "the Moroccan athletes achieved satisfactory results and they showed that Moroccan karate is full of talent. Our champions have worked hard to achieve this result," he said before adding that "the various events have seen the participation of great champions belonging to the countries ranked in the Top 5 worldwide." In total, the Moroccan athletes are returning to Morocco with eight medals, including three gold.
