Moroccan Police Officers Arrested: Assault and Misconduct Allegations Spark Investigation

Suspected of being involved in two separate incidents, in Safi and Agadir, two police officers are the subject of a judicial investigation opened by the provincial police services in Safi.
The cases concern a police inspector working in Safi and the other, a police sergeant operating in Agadir, reports Hespress. The first would be involved in a case related to beatings, intentional injuries to a woman, indicates the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release, specifying that these would be acts resulting from "personal differences" in a relationship between the police officer and the woman.
The accused has been placed in custody, pending further investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this case.
24 hours earlier, a police sergeant on duty at the Agadir prefecture is mentioned in a case of driving in "inappropriate conditions due to alcohol consumption," the same source points out.
According to the preliminary investigations, he would have caused the accident that occurred at the level of the FAR boulevard "due to his state of drunkenness". The agent was placed in custody and made available for the judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
