Moroccan Police Officers Arrested for Alleged Custody Violence in Laâyoune

Two police officers from the Laâyoune police prefecture service have been arrested on suspicion of acts of violence against an individual who was in custody. An investigation has been opened.
According to the details provided by the judicial police of Laâyoune, the facts are serious enough and reveal at the current stage of the investigation that the two officials used force against an individual in custody who was in an advanced state of intoxication, indicates a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
Pending the completion of the investigation, the two police officers have been taken into custody. The investigation will determine what really happened with the suspect and whether in the past the two agents had committed other acts and disciplinary breaches, the statement concludes.
