Three Arrested in Salé for Violent Carjacking and Extortion Scheme

The judicial police of Salé arrested on Monday three young people involved in a case of "robbery with violence, assault and attempted extortion".
The three young people aged between 26 and 27 years old violently attacked a man driving a goods transport vehicle before fleeing with the car, his money and his mobile phone, according to a statement from the DGSN.
They then called the driver’s relatives, making them believe they were holding him hostage, and demanded a ransom for his release. Informed, the police elements began searches and investigations that quickly led to the recovery of the stolen vehicle. The police did not take long to apprehend the three suspects, who at the time of their arrest were in "an advanced state of intoxication," the DGSN statement said.
The investigation opened is still ongoing to determine all the gray areas in this case. But in the meantime, the suspects have been taken into custody.
