A Moroccan national, blocked in Melilla since the closure of the borders, died on Wednesday after attempting to climb the wire fence separating the enclave from Morocco.
The autonomous city recorded a second death during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday following the fall of a Moroccan national.
The man succumbed to his injuries at the Ghassani Hospital Center in Fez, after a stint at the provincial hospital in Nador. No information was provided about the age and identity of the victim.
Hundreds of Moroccans are still blocked in Ceuta and Melilla. Spain would be ready to reopen its borders on condition that Morocco does the same.
