Moroccan Midfielder Belhanda Joins Adana Demirspor After Galatasaray Exit

While he was announced at Montpellier or another European club, after his forced departure from Galatasaray, Younès Belhanda defies all predictions and chooses to continue in the Turkish championship, signing with Adana Demirspor.
In a press release, the Turkish club Adana Demirspor announced that Younès Belhanda has signed a 3-year contract. He will receive 1.5 million euros per year for 3 seasons, according to the terms of the agreement concluded between the 31-year-old striker and President Murat Sancak.
Younès Belhanda was expected to return to Montpellier to the delight of the club’s management, who were looking forward to welcoming him. But the transfer is failing, as Montpellier is in the midst of a financial crisis, like many clubs that are struggling to recover from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
It was in 2017 that the Moroccan player was transferred from Dinamo Kiev to Galatasaray for 10 million euros. In 4 years, he has scored 22 goals and provided 26 assists. But for having "attacked" the club and its leaders by making "insulting remarks", the former 2012 French champion was fired from the club.
