Moroccan Boy Dies After 4-Day Rescue Effort to Save Him from Deep Well

It is a sad news that we have just learned. Little Rayan, 5 years old, who fell on Tuesday afternoon into a 32-meter deep well near Chefchaouen, in northern Morocco, has died.
The news has not yet been made official, but according to the live images published by many Moroccan media, the rescuers have taken the body of the little boy on a stretcher. He did not survive.
Rayan accidentally fell into this well located near his family residence on February 1st. For these four days, the rescuers mobilized by the authorities have worked tirelessly to try to save him. In vain!

The emergency services had dug a parallel hole to the well using bulldozers, before making a horizontal breach with a pickaxe and shovel, for fear of a collapse, until reaching Rayan’s position.
