Moroccan Prime Minister Mourns Death of 5-Year-Old Rayan After Well Rescue Attempt

Fallen Tuesday in the family well in the Chefchaouen region, little Rayan was extracted on Saturday by the rescuers. Unfortunately, the little boy died.
Following this sad news, the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, expressed his condolences to Rayan’s parents, Khalid Ouram and Ouassima Kharchich, on behalf of the entire Moroccan government.
"I received with great sadness the news of Rayan’s death. After so many days of hope to find him alive. I therefore offer, on my behalf as well as on behalf of all the members of the government, my sincere condolences to the child’s family," writes Akhannouch.
And to add: "While the drilling operations continued for five days, colossal efforts were made to save the child, may God have his soul, for our primary interest was to get him out of the well safe and sound."
