UN Mourns Moroccan Boy Rayan, Praises Rescuers’ Efforts in Well Tragedy

The United Nations (UN) has offered condolences to Rayan’s family and saluted the efforts made by the rescue teams to try to save him.
Morocco was in shock on Saturday evening after the rescue teams found Rayan dead at the bottom of a well in a laborious rescue operation that had the whole world on tenterhooks for five days.
According to the UN Secretary-General’s Deputy Spokesman, Farhan Haq, the Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, is "saddened by this news. Our hearts are with the family (of Rayan) and his community. We salute the work and time devoted by the rescuers to save" little Rayan.
Rayan Aourram’s burial took place on Monday, after the Addohr and funeral prayers, in the commune of Tamorot.
