In just one year, Marrakech has risen from 22nd place to first. It now tops searches for plane tickets for the Toussaint holidays on the French platform Bourse des Vols. According to the barometer published on October 14 by TourMaG, Marrakech has made the biggest leap among destinations in the top 10.

Marrakech is ahead of Algiers in second place, Réunion in third, Tunis in fourth and Bangkok in fifth. The rankings hold another Moroccan surprise: Casablanca has climbed to sixth place, up 13 spots from the previous year.

The two cities’ strong gains confirm French travelers’ keen interest in Morocco ahead of the autumn school holidays, which began on October 17 and run until November 2.

Searches for Marrakech jump 40%

The increase extends well beyond the Toussaint period. Across September as a whole, searches for flights from France to Marrakech rose 40% compared with September 2025. The destination ranks fifth overall, behind Réunion, Algiers, Bangkok and Pointe-à-Pitre.

From Lyon, the increase reached 72% year over year. This trend comes as several Mediterranean destinations are seeing renewed interest from French travelers.

Caroline Gachet, Bourse des Vols’ marketing and e-commerce director, notes a marked preference for sunny, easily accessible destinations for Toussaint. The Maghreb features prominently in searches, alongside more distant destinations such as Bangkok and Madagascar.

The barometer is based on searches recorded in September 2026 on Bourse des Vols. The Toussaint ranking measures travel intentions on the platform and compares them with those for the same period in 2025.
