The famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square in Marrakech will soon offer tourists a new face. The renovation work undertaken by the city authorities is progressing rapidly.
With a total cost of 61.10 million dirhams, the project is part of the partnership and financing agreement relating to the completion of the redevelopment and enhancement work of the Jemaa el-Fnaa square in the old medina of the city of Marrakech 2022-2024.
More specifically, the work on the square concerns the floor covering, the drainage of the square with the connection of the various equipment to the existing networks, the water and electricity supply of certain areas located on the square and the creation of three terrace spaces to be shared by the restaurateurs.
This is in addition to other development work covering the El Bilk garden and the tourist information kiosks. The project also includes the creation of a collection of nomadic public furniture, with the installation of a battery-powered parasol for the Halka.
