In the Middle East and North Africa region, the kingdom ranks 14th out of 18. It is ahead of Algeria and Tunisia, but remains ahead of Jordan or Egypt, while on a global scale, Finland dominates the ranking for the ninth consecutive year.

The document reports a general decline in happiness among young people compared to the last fifteen years, a decline strongly linked to the use of social networks. Passive digital consumption indeed promotes stress and depressive symptoms. In Morocco, the proportion of heavy users remains at a lower level than its neighbors, with around 15%, compared to nearly 45% in Lebanon.

This stagnant trajectory demonstrates that economic indicators alone are no longer sufficient to explain the population’s perception of their existence. For the kingdom, whose decline has stopped without reversing, the assessment of quality of life increasingly depends on social conditions and global generational expectations.
