Purchasing power: three Moroccan cities rank in the top 10 in Africa

Rabat ranks fifth at the African level. The capital city outperforms Marrakech, which is sixth, and Casablanca, which is in ninth place. This triple presence allows Morocco to be among the most successful emerging economies, alongside Libya, Botswana and Tunisia, which complete this picture.

The World Bank explains these positions by tangible data. The standard of living, price stability and access to services are favoring these results. The attractiveness of these cities for investment and tourism reinforces their status as major consumer hubs in North Africa.

While Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban monopolize the top of the ranking, the Moroccan metropolises outperform most other African capitals. The diversity of the Kingdom’s productive sectors ensures a constant economic momentum in the face of continental competition.
