German Auto Parts Manufacturer Expands to Morocco with New Factory in Tanger Med
The German group Stahlschmidt International Holding GmbH (SCS), specialized in components and assemblies for mechanical unlocking systems, inaugurated, on Wednesday, a new unit in the Tanger Med zone.
Built on an area of 21,400 m², this factory required an investment of 107 million dirhams (MDH) and will create 1,075 jobs and generate an annual turnover of more than 400 MDH, the company said.
The objective is to meet the demand of the world’s most prestigious automakers, who have a particular presence on the international market, the same source points out, specifying that this new unit is the group’s first on the continent.
Morocco has become an industrial destination for major international industrial groups of reference, particularly in the automotive and other vital industries, it is added.
Present at the inauguration ceremony, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, indicated that the new German unit strengthens Tangier’s position as an industrial destination par excellence and contributes to supporting the balanced and promising Moroccan-German economic cooperation.
