Japanese Auto Supplier Yazaki Opens $33 Million Plant in Morocco, Boosting EV Parts Production

The Japanese automotive supplier Yazaki is strengthening its activities in Morocco with the inauguration in Kenitra of a new plant, the 4th in the kingdom and the 2nd in Kenitra.
The inauguration of this new plant took place during a ceremony presided over by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour. In his speech, he stressed that with the strengthening of Yazaki’s activities in Morocco, the kingdom is positioning itself on the international stage. More than 333 million dirhams have been mobilized in the establishment of this plant, whose specialty will be the manufacture of parts to equip thermal, hybrid and electric vehicles. "This reinforces the transition of the automotive industry towards electrification and sustainable mobility," said Ryad Mezzour.
For his part, Yazaki EMEA’s Chief Operating Officer, Andreas Di Vece, noted that Morocco stands out from other countries through the exceptional business conditions it offers and which facilitate investments. He also gave his assessment of the collaboration with Moroccan employees, whom he describes as "qualified, talented and committed." They are among the reasons why "Yazaki continues to develop its industrial footprint in the country."
Present in Morocco for 22 years, Yazaki now has 4 plants located respectively in Tangier, two in Kenitra and Meknes. The group is now one of the largest employers in Morocco with more than 16,000 employees.
