Emirates Logistics Expands in Morocco with New Tanger Med Facility

Emirates Logistics, a subsidiary of the Emirati group Sharaf, inaugurated a new logistics center on Friday in Tanger Automotive City, located in the Tanger Med industrial platform.

The new 14,500 m² unit is specialized in logistics services for finished products, raw materials and spare parts for industrialists and will create 100 new jobs, according to a statement from the Emirati group. It offers a storage capacity of 15,000 pallets, with a secured mezzanine for the management of 10,000 cartons of electronic parts and 14 docks allowing an incoming and outgoing flow of 80 trucks per day, it is specified.

During the inauguration ceremony, the Emirati Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri stressed that the new center reflects the depth of the relations between his country and Morocco. The official also added that the indicators of the evolution of Emirati investments in Morocco, especially in recent years, in terms of quantity and quality, confirm that the kingdom has become an important pole of attraction for foreign investments, particularly in the North of the Kingdom.

For his part, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohamed Abdeljali, noted that the Emirati investment project helps to improve the logistics offer in northern Morocco, create new job opportunities and support economic competitiveness and the dynamism of exports, adding that the opening of this center also strengthens the development of cooperation between the two countries in the creation of qualitative logistics platforms, in a region that has a reference port in full structural transformation and development.

Established in Morocco in 2016, Emirates Logistics Corporation employs more than 350 people, manages 47,600 m² of storage spread over 5 logistics centers and operates a fleet of 32 trucks, the same source recalls.
