Tanger Med Industrial Zone Attracts 28 New Companies, $120 Million Investment
The Tanger Med industrial platform closed the year 2021 with 28 new industrial projects, representing total investments of nearly 1.2 billion DH and generating 4,400 new jobs.
According to a press release from the group cited by l’Économiste, these projects include the Lisi group, a leader in the design and manufacture of assembly solutions, Sonofet, a Moroccan company specializing in the production of XPS thermal insulation panels and plastics, and finally, Boa, a leader in the field of natural casings.
These units were preceded by other investors who opted for the Tanger Med industrial zones, such as Nippon Express, TE Connectivity, Indore or Siplas.
In addition, 8 new operators have started their activities in the Logistics sector in the port logistics zone of Tanger Med. These include: GEFCO, Dachser, TE Connectivity, APTIV, etc. These projects have involved, in particular, the commissioning of 40,000 m² of advanced supplier warehouses (MAF) dedicated to automotive logistics.
It should be noted that the business volume generated from the zones reached 92 billion DH in turnover, up 26% compared to the previous year, with private investments coming from 14 countries including Morocco, Tunisia, Belgium, Spain, United Kingdom, France, USA, Italy, Ireland, Niger, China, Portugal, Japan and Germany.
