New Outlet Mall Project Launches Near Tetouan, Morocco for 2022 Opening

Tanger Med Zones (TMZ), the developer-developer, a subsidiary of the Tanger Med group, has launched the call for expressions of interest (AMI) to recruit the company that will be responsible for the development and management of the outlet project, in the new commercial zone located between Tetouan and M’diq.

TMZ has already launched the development work of this new commercial zone covering an area of 70 hectares, of which 30 hectares, reserved for the outlet project, will be available as of April 2022. The call for expressions of interest that has been launched aims to "select an investor/operator, with the required skills and know-how for the development, promotion and management of outlet or shopping center projects to international standards," it is indicated, specifying that interested companies can submit their offers until December 31 at 4:00 p.m.

This project aims to support tourism activity and complement the seaside vocation of the region, TMZ points out, according to which the Zone will be equipped with leisure spaces, playgrounds, restaurants, etc. It will be dedicated to 6 activity areas related to industry, logistics and services and can accommodate more than 1,100 companies generating nearly 90,000 jobs.

The world leader in furniture and decoration, IKEA, is the first company to register in the new commercial zone. It plans to occupy an area of more than 3 ha including 19,000 m² under cover. The site work has already started and the opening is scheduled for the summer of 2022.
