UAE Proposes Trilateral Trade Agreement with Morocco and Israel

During his visit to Rabat on Thursday, June 9, 2022, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE Minister of Economy, stated that a trilateral agreement is under discussion with Moroccan officials to intensify exchanges between Morocco, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Israel.
In a statement to Reuters, the Emirati minister said the United Arab Emirates would discuss a trilateral Morocco-UAE-Israel agreement to boost trade between the three countries. "This will offer great opportunities for merchants and investors," he said. Intensifying trade exchanges with Morocco is also a priority for Abu Dhabi. Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri said the United Arab Emirates wants to intensify its trade with Morocco, with the aim of bringing it to $7 billion in 10 years, compared to $800 million in 2021. According to his explanations, it will be a question of reducing the transit time of containers between the two countries to only 7 days, against 40 days currently.
The Emirati minister is expected this Friday at the port of Tanger Med, where he will honor with his presence the inauguration ceremony of the new logistics hub of Emirates Automotive Logistics, a subsidiary of the Emirati giant Sharaf Group, within Tanger Automotive City (TAC).
