Food Poisoning Outbreak in Casablanca Sickens Over 20 Fast-Food Customers

More than 20 people ended up in the hospital after consuming a meal in a fast-food establishment in Casablanca.

The victims, showing symptoms of food poisoning, were transported to the local hospital in Ben M’sik to receive the necessary care.

Alerted, the police services opened an investigation to determine the causes of this food poisoning and identify the responsibilities. According to the first elements of the investigation, the poisoning would be due to poor storage of the ingredients used in the preparation of the dish, due to the intense heat noted in Casablanca in recent days.

This new case of food poisoning has raised concern among Casablancans, who fear the recording of new cases. They call on the competent authorities to take urgent and firm measures to enforce hygiene rules in these establishments in order to preserve the health of consumers.
