Child Trafficking Attempt Foiled: 10-Year-Old Palestinian Found Hidden in Shopping Cart at Melilla Border

The Guardia Civil has managed to thwart the attempt to traffic a 10-year-old Palestinian child, hidden under bags of fruits and vegetables in a shopping cart. Transiting through the Beni Nsar crossing, the child was to join the Spanish enclave Melilla.
Behind this adventure are a 39-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man, whose nationalities have not been revealed, who had tried to smuggle the young Palestinian in a shopping cart.
The overweight of the cart had intrigued the Guardia Civil agents who, after emptying its contents, discovered a child hidden at the bottom of the cart.
The two individuals were taken into custody, pending the investigation opened under the supervision of the Attorney General’s Office, before being brought to justice.
