Spanish Police Arrest 4 Hackers in Melilla for Nationwide Banking Fraud Scheme

A group of 4 hackers, including 3 of Moroccan origin, operating from Nador, were arrested by the Guardia civil, following complaints from several Spanish citizens.
The Spanish National Police received more than 47 complaints, from about twenty cities in Spain, before being able to locate the perpetrators of the banking fraud near an ATM in Melilla.
Aged 24 to 36, the 4 suspects, who had managed to accumulate 35,000 euros, were posing as prison employees in order to obtain personal data from their victims, allowing them to make withdrawals from their bank accounts.
The 4 defendants were apprehended in the Spanish enclave of Melilla, as they were about to make a withdrawal from the bank account of a victim. They were prosecuted for fraud, money laundering and the formation of a criminal organization.
