Bayern’s Mazraoui: "Our Biggest Champions League Opponent Is Ourselves"

Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui gave a smart response when asked to name Bayern Munich’s main competitors for the Champions League.
Who are Bayern Munich’s main competitors for the Champions League? Noussair Mazraoui answered this question intelligently. "It’s us! If we play at the level we can, if we defend as well as we do now, if we continue to improve as we have been, then our biggest opponent is ourselves," said the 24-year-old Moroccan international in an interview with Abendzeitung.
This response from the player is proof that he knows his new club well and the challenges facing him. Over the past two seasons, Bayern was its own worst enemy. This is evidenced by the defeat against PSG in 2021, due to the injury of Robert Lewandowski, and the elimination this year against Villarreal CF.
However, the Atlas Lion acknowledges that "there are certainly teams it would be difficult against - Real Madrid or Manchester City, for example".
