Morocco’s Mazraoui Confident Atlas Lions Can Make History at World Cup in Qatar

Like right-back Achraf Hakimi, Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui is very optimistic about the participation of the Atlas Lions in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. He is convinced that together they can write history.
"With Croatia and Belgium, we will meet the numbers two and three from the 2018 World Cup, so the group stage will be very difficult. However, I think we have a chance, it depends on our own performance. I am convinced of the quality of our team. We can write history," said Noussair Mazraoui in an interview with Goal.
The Bayern Munich star is counting on the quality of the Atlas Lions to succeed in Morocco’s participation in the World Cup in Qatar. "I think we will be one of the strongest teams in the World Cup in terms of technique. We have an excellent mix in the team with a lot of young players and a few older players who already have a great career and can bring the necessary experience," he is convinced, citing big names playing for the best European clubs, such as Achraf Hakimi, star of PSG and Chelsea’s attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech but also players like Sofiane Boufal, Abdelhamid Sabiri and goalkeeper Yassine Bounou alias Bono.
Placed in Group F, Morocco will begin their sixth participation in the final phase of the 2022 World Cup by challenging Croatia (finalist of the last edition) on November 23, before crossing swords with Belgium (eliminated by the Blues in the semi-finals of the previous edition), and finally Canada (back 36 years after their only participation in 1986) on the 3rd matchday.
