Ziyech Optimistic After Debut for Qatar’s Al-Duhail

Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech "feels very good" at Al-Duhail, his new club. The 31-year-old striker did not hide his joy after his first appearance in the Qatari club’s colors on Friday against Umm Salal.
"I feel very good after this first participation with Al-Duhail," Ziyech said in an interview with the "Al Majlis" show on beIN Sports Qatar channels. The Atlas Lion, who lacked consistency at Galatasaray, hopes "to progress step by step to return to my usual level, contribute to the club and enjoy more matches."
The Moroccan international also expressed his attachment to Qatar, where he stayed during the 2022 World Cup. "I have felt comfortable here for two years. Qatar offers great freedom, everything is smooth, and as a Muslim country, everything is perfect for me," he confided.
Last Thursday, Al-Duhail announced on its social media the recruitment of Ziyech, with a photo of the Moroccan player and a carefully prepared welcome video. The former Chelsea player arrived at the Qatari club after a difficult spell at Galatasaray.
Sidelined by the Turkish club’s coach, the 31-year-old Moroccan striker has not set foot on the pitch for several months. He hopes to revive his career and establish himself in his new club. A return to form that could convince Walid Regragui to call him up for the 2025 Morocco CAN.
