Moroccan Star Hakim Ziyech Seeks New Club After Al-Duhail Exit

Hakim Ziyech finds himself without a club again, after a short four-month experience at Al-Duhail. The 32-year-old player, who did not meet the expectations of the Qatari club, is now looking for a new club to revive his career.

In poor form at Galatasaray, Ziyech joined Al-Duhail last January. But the Moroccan international failed to establish himself in his new club. His performances did not convince the staff and management of the Qatari club. In nine league appearances, the Moroccan striker scored only one goal and provided one assist. Faced with these unimpressive statistics, the club’s management agreed with Ziyech to terminate his contract before the end of the season.

The former Galatasaray player had expressed last December his desire to leave the Turkish club where he had been sidelined by the coach. "I don’t want to play here anymore. I’m leaving in January. I’ve never seen such a bad coach," he had declared, revealing the rift between the latter and himself. After leaving Ajax Amsterdam in 2020, where he had particularly shone for four seasons, Ziyech signed with Chelsea. But the winger failed to find his bearings and thrive with the Blues.

Once again without a club, the Moroccan is looking to quickly revive his career in hopes of participating in the next Africa Cup of Nations (CAN Morocco 2025) with the Atlas Lions at home. Walid Regragui, the coach of the Moroccan national team, is closely following the player’s situation and waiting for him to regain his best level and consistency before calling him up.

According to some rumors, Ziyech could join Al Nasr in the United Arab Emirates, managed by Dutchman Alfred Schreuder, whom he had worked with at FC Twente. Clubs from Saudi Arabia and Europe are also reportedly interested in the 32-year-old player who has not finished revealing his potential and is clearly not ready to hang up his boots. It’s up to him to find the right club to quickly revive his career and hope for a call-up to the national team for CAN Morocco 2025.
