Ziyech’s Morocco Return in Doubt as Playing Time Remains Limited

Due to his lack of regularity at Galatasaray, Hakim Ziyech had been sidelined by the Moroccan national team coach, Walid Regragui. The 31-year-old striker, who joined Al-Duhail during the last winter transfer window, is trying to regain his place within the Atlas Lions.
Ziyech wants to return to the Moroccan national team. Due to his lack of playing time at Galatasaray, he was no longer called up by Regragui. By accepting to join Al-Duhail, the Atlas Lion hoped to gain in regularity and regain his best level in order to convince the Moroccan coach to reintegrate him.
But the situation seems to be complicating for the Moroccan striker. Ziyech was not in the starting lineup against Al-Sadd in the Qatari championship, a match closely followed by Regragui and his assistant, Rachid Benhamoud.
Apparently, the 31-year-old player has not yet won the trust of his coach, Christophe Galtier, which compromises his return to the national team. If Ziyech wants to feature on Regragui’s list for the CAN Morocco 2025, he will have to give his best and shine in his club.
Since joining Al-Duhail, the Moroccan striker has only played three matches. His contract with the Qatari club runs until 2027.
