Hakim Ziyech Settles in at New Qatari Club, Praises Warm Welcome

Moroccan attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech is actively preparing for the rest of the season. Arriving on a free transfer from Galatasaray during the last winter transfer window, he has signed a contract binding him to the Qatari club until June 2026.
During a press conference preceding the 17th round match of the Qatar Stars League against Al-Shahania, Ziyech shared his first impressions, emphasizing the quality of the welcome he received: "I was welcomed with a lot of warmth within the group. Everyone here, whether my teammates, the technical staff or the management, is wonderful without exception. From the moment I arrived, I felt at home, and that’s something that greatly facilitates the adaptation of any player."
Ziyech also clearly stated his objectives: "I will try to give the best of myself," he said. The Moroccan international specified his intentions: "I came here to help my teammates and meet the club’s expectations, whether at the management or team level."
A month after his arrival, the former Galatasaray player is focusing on his physical and tactical preparation, hoping for a call-up from Walid Regragui to join the Atlas Lions. "I’m working hard to be ready to help my team. I’m convinced that I will progress little by little by adapting to the club and the local championship," he said. Adapting to the Qatari championship is an important challenge for the player.
