Ziyech Seeks Fresh Start with Qatar’s Al-Duhail After Chelsea Exit

Moroccan attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech has embarked on a new chapter of his career by joining the Qatari club Al-Duhail. In an interview with the club’s official website, he explains the reasons for this choice and displays his ambitions.
After a period of "two or three months" of inactivity in Turkey, Ziyech felt the need for a "new challenge". His arrival at Al-Duhail responds, he says, to this aspiration. He specifies that the clarity of the sports project presented to him convinced him: "The vision was clear [...] that I would play and train a lot so that I could regain my form."
Beyond the field, Ziyech highlights the quality of life he has found in Qatar. He particularly appreciates the tranquility that reigns there, far from the agitation he has known in the past. "I feel good, really peaceful," he confides. "Here, the people [...] leave you a little alone [...] and you can easily enjoy your life, without much tension," he adds, before specifying: "They let you be yourself."
This regained freedom is, according to him, essential to his fulfillment. "When I feel free, I know the best of myself comes out," he says.
Ziyech’s main objective is clear: to win the championship with Al-Duhail. "Being champion is the most important thing," he declares, also evoking the "indelible memory" of the World Cup, part of which took place in Qatar with the Moroccan national team. "We spent a month here, with all the families, journalists... We had a lot of fun." He continues, speaking of this World Cup: "We made history [...] and it will always be engraved in your mind [...] and in your heart."
"We didn’t know we would come back, but we’re here, and we’re going to enjoy creating new wonderful memories," concluded the player, who hopes for a call from Walid Regragui for the next matches of the Moroccan national team.
