Morocco’s Ziyech Poised for National Team Comeback in Arab Cup

Hakim Ziyech (Al-Rayyan, Qatar) is expected to return to the Moroccan national team for the upcoming Arab Cup, organized in Qatar under FIFA’s auspices, after a long international absence.
His winter transfer from Galatasaray to the Qatari championship makes him eligible for this tournament, open to players competing in Arab leagues.
The national coach, Tarik Sektioui, is currently preparing an extended list that will include Moroccan professional players from the Gulf and Egyptian championships.
Although Ziyech fits this framework, his actual participation remains uncertain. An "existing dispute between him and the management of the A national team" is mentioned as a potential obstacle to his call-up.
A major architect of Morocco’s epic run in the Qatar World Cup where he played a central role, Hakim Ziyech had greatly impressed. His presence at the Arab Cup will therefore depend on the evolution of this dispute, the final decision of the coach, and of course, that of the player.
