Ziyech’s Morocco Return Hinges on Club Performance, Analyst Says

Long absent, Hakim Ziyech now an attacking midfielder for Al-Duhail SC (Qatar) should soon mark his return to the national team. According to a sports analyst for the beIN Sports channels, his return is however conditional.
Hakim Ziyech joined the Qatari club Al-Duhail SC at the end of January. A signing that puts an end to the lack of physical preparation and the problems he experienced in Turkey. Can he claim a new call-up from Walid Regragui? "If he manages to establish himself as an undisputed starter in his club, this will have a positive impact both for his team and for his future with the Moroccan national team," estimates the sports analyst for the beIN Sports channels, Abdelaziz Bennij in a statement to Alyoum24. He must therefore succeed in imposing his style of play with his new club before hoping to regain his place within the Atlas Lions where the competition is fierce.
According to Bennij, the fact of evolving in the Gulf championships is no longer an obstacle for the players of the Moroccan national team in order to be called up by the coach of the Moroccan team. Currently, Walid Regragui is traveling the region to assess the physical condition of the players. A prerequisite before the publication of the list of Atlas Lions who will be selected for the matches against Niger and Tanzania, scheduled for next March, as part of the fifth and sixth qualifying rounds for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
