5-Year-Old Girl Dies from Viper Bite in Ouarzazate, Morocco

A 5-year-old girl succumbed to a snake bite in Ouarzazate.
This tragedy saddened the entire douar of Sidi Hssaine in Ouzarzate. The little girl was playing in front of the family home when she was bitten by a viper, reports barlamane.
Having lost consciousness, she was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, she succumbed to the effects of the venom on the way.
Once at the hospital, the victim’s body was taken to the morgue for an autopsy and an investigation was opened under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.
Last year, the Ministry of Health had issued a press release announcing the creation of a pharmaceutical unit that will have to manufacture serums, vaccines and biological products in order to meet national needs but also to export this type of product internationally. Serums and vaccines being intended to cure infectious diseases and poisonings due to snake and scorpion bites.
