8-Year-Old Girl Dies from Scorpion Sting in Morocco as Summer Heat Increases Incidents

An 8-year-old girl died at the Settat hospital yesterday morning after being stung by a scorpion at her home in the commune of Oulad Amer.
First taken to the El Borouj clinic, her condition requiring more care, she was transferred to the Hassan II hospital in Settat. Despite the efforts of the doctors, the girl could not be saved, according to sources cited by the local site kech24.
Her body is at the hospital morgue awaiting the autopsy and administrative procedures before her burial.
This tragedy comes as the region is experiencing an upsurge in scorpion stings with the summer heat. The angry population after similar tragedies is urging the authorities, particularly the Ministry of Health, to act.
