Winter Storm Brings Heavy Snow and Thunderstorms to Morocco’s Provinces

The cold will still be on the agenda this Friday and Saturday in most Moroccan regions, with heavy showers and even snowfall.
According to the National Meteorology Directorate (DMN), heavy thunderstorms and snowfall are expected on Friday and Saturday in several provinces of the Kingdom.
On Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., heavy thunderstorms of orange level will be recorded in places, particularly in the provinces of Al Haouz, Azilal, Chichaoua, Taroudant and Kelaat-Sraghna. The same phenomenon will be observed on Saturday, from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., in Al Haouz, Azilal, Errachidia, Midelt, Ouarzazate, Taroudant and Tinghir.
In Al Haouz, Azilal, Midelt, Tinghir and Beni Mellal, snowfall is expected on Saturday, from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. In addition, some snowfall is forecast on Friday afternoon in the High Atlas.
Thunderstorms that may be accompanied in places by hail or locally moderate thunderstorm gusts will also be recorded on Saturday, from 00:00 to 10:00 in the provinces of Sidi Ifni, Guelmim, Tan-Tan and Tarfaya.
