Winter Storm Alert: Morocco Braces for Heavy Rain and Up to 30cm of Snow

A large part of Morocco should experience heavy showers tonight from 9 p.m., as well as snow and gusts of wind, warns the national meteorology in a special bulletin.
Several regions are affected by this alert, including Berkane, Guercif, Jerada, Oujda-Angad and Taourirt, it is indicated.
To these provinces are added Boulemane, Ifrane, Sefrou, and Taza, which will be affected by heavy rains, from Sunday at 9:00 p.m. to Monday at 6:00 p.m.
Snowfall of 10 to 30 cm on heights above 1,800 m is also expected in the provinces of Ifrane and Boulemane, from Sunday at 9:00 p.m. to Monday at midnight, the same source notes.
In addition, strong gusts of wind, also at the orange level, are forecast for this Sunday in Al Haouz, Al Hoceima, Azilal, Berkane, Boulemane, Driouch, Figuig, Guercif, Ifrane, Jerada, Midelt, Nador, Ouarzazate, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt and Taza.
As for the provinces of El Haouz, Azilal, Boujdour, Boulemane, Essemara, Essaouira, Figuig, Guercif, Laayoune, Midelt, Ouarzazate, Tan-Tan, Taourirt and Tarfaya, they will be affected by strong gusts of wind (70 to 85 km/h), writes the National Meteorology Directorate (DMN.
