Wife of Former Moroccan Soccer Star Released on Bail After Fatal Rabat Accident

Placed in custody after a fatal accident that occurred on Monday in Rabat, the wife of Youssef Chippo, former Moroccan international and sports analyst for beIN Sport, was released on Wednesday after paying bail. Her trial is scheduled for November 19.
The public prosecutor’s office of the court of first instance of Rabat decided to prosecute the wife of former Moroccan international Youssef Chippo while at liberty.
In custody since Monday, when she caused an accident on Mohammed VI Avenue in Rabat, killing one man and injuring another, she was released after paying a bail of 30,000 dirhams. Her trial is scheduled for November 19.
The defendant is accused of involuntary manslaughter, unintentional injury and recklessness, said her lawyer, Me Aziz Lahrach, in a statement to the press.
The wife of Youssef Chippo was arrested by the police after hitting with an SUV registered in her husband’s name a motorcycle carrying two soldiers at the entrance of a service station in the Moroccan capital.
